A common nightmare for New Yorkers came true yesterday evening when a woman walking in Greenwich Village died after being hit by a large piece of plywood blown from a nearby construction site. The New York Times reports that the 37-year-old woman was talking on her cell phone while walking in front of 175 West 12th St. when a four feet by eight feet piece of wood struck her, knocking her into a wall.
