N.Y.U., city get big win in university expansion case

In a major win for New York University and the city, a state appeals court on Tuesday overturned a decision that threatened to complicate the school's controversial expansion plans and redefine what types of property should be considered parkland. The ruling by a three-judge appellate panel paves the way for N.Y.U. to begin work on its multi-billion-dollar development effort, which calls for the construction of nearly two million square feet of space on the southern end of its Greenwich Village campus.
