William Garfield Greaves Documentarian - " Filmmaker - " Teacher October 8, 1926 a " August 25, 2014

William Greaves, one of the most respected independents in the film and television world has passed away. Internationally recognized for his groundbreaking body of work the pioneering African-American filmmaker was 87. Greaves passed at his home in Manhattan on Monday afternoon with his family present.
