In June of 1970, New York City held its first Gay Pride march of a few thousand people in protest of the 1969 police raid on the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village .Today it is one of cities largest parades with 2 million participants celebrating lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender culture.
